Acquis d'apprentissage

At the end of this module, the students should be able to:
- Enounce the scientific challenges derived from the scalable coding and universal access paradigms,
- Explain the underlying fundamental principles and mathematical tools involved in the field of visual content compression,
- Describe and interpret existing or emerging image/video/3D compression standards,
- Evaluate the pertinence of a given compression standard or method within the framework of a specific application,
- Examine a given compression chain and enounce advantages, limitations and area of applicability
- Design and implement a dedicated compression technique within the framework of realistic industrial applications (e.g. digital TV, telesurveillance, robotics, 3D gaming...).
