Learning objectives

All the students, at the end of the course, will be able to:
- Integrate the basic functions of a standard microwave systems, like sensor networks or wireless local area networks, through theoretical works.
- Carry out the basic concepts through practical experiments, by groups of two students.
- Apprehend a suitable approach for a professional simulation software (ADS, Advanced Design System), either individually or by groups of two students.
- Combine the above skills in order to simulate the performance of a simple radio system in the case of a connected object of limited complexity.

CDIO Skills

  • 1.1 - Knowledge of basic science including mathematics and others
  • 1.3 - Advanced engineering fundamental knowledge, methods and tools
  • 2.1 - Analytical reasoning and problem solving
  • 2.1.5 - Solution and Recommendation
  • 2.2 - Experimentation, investigation and knowledge discovery

Prerequisites

A background of first courses in electronic and microwaves is assumed
