Upon completion of this module, students will be able to:
- Explain cryptography, discuss the most commonly used encryption algorithms, and understand advanced mechanisms
- Explain the fundamentals and security challenges of protocols associated with new services
- Identify and describe identity management mechanisms (SSO - Single Sign-On) and public key infrastructure (PKI)
- Implement authentication and encryption services in supervised practical sessions
- Identify and describe identity management mechanisms (SSO - Single Sign-On) and public key infrastructure (PKI)
- Generate and use digital certificates using the OpenSSL library
- Understand the mechanisms used in VPNs (Virtual Private Networks)
- Configure VPNs operating over IPsec ina practical session.
- Understand teh filtering mechanisms and experiment them in different settings.
