Cours/TD/TP/projet/examen : 15/0/12/0/3Learning objectives
At the end of the module, students will be able to:
Identify, compare and characterize architectures of wireless system.
Characterize and analyze different antenna structures thanks to lectures and exercises.
Study and analyze radio transmission system thanks to simulations.
CDIO Skills
- 1.1 - Knowledge of basic science including mathematics and others
- 1.2 - Core engineering fundamental knowledge and other disciplines
- 1.3 - Advanced engineering fundamental knowledge, methods and tools
- 2.1.1 - Problem Identification and Formulation
- 2.1.2 - Modeling
- 2.1.5 - Solution and Recommendation
Prerequisites
A background in analog and digital electronics, antenna, transmission lines, microwave systems, signal processing, information theory and digital communications is assumed
Keywords
Wireless communication system, components, transmitter, receiver, antenna, characterization, simulations
Content
Radio architectures: Emitter / Receiver (E/R) structures, hardware architecture definition.
Antennas (from simple to complex ones): wire antennas, aperture antenna, reflector antennas (space applications), array antennas, printed antennas.
RF simulations with Keysight ADS software.
Evaluation
NF1 = average (laboratory work + oral presentation + 1st session written exam).
NF2 = average (laboratory work + oral presentation + 2nd session written exam).
Final grade = sup (NF1, NF2).
