Evaluation

All Grading will be on a scale of 0 to 20, unless otherwise stated.

Continuous Assessment (CC)
CC activities make up 2/3 of the final grade for the module (UV/UE).
• CC1: Test Strategies Study-Plan (Session 2)
• CC2: Mock TOEIC Listening & Reading Exam (Session 3)
• CC3: Self-Assessment & Study Plan (Session 3)

Presence & Participation (PP)
PP activities make up 1/3 of the final grade for the module (UV/UE)
• Presence Grade: Learners will receive credit for attending classes, and being on-time. Unjustified absences will thus have a direct impact on a learner’s overall grade.
• Participation Grade: Learners will be assessed on their participation in class, according to the criteria in ‘classroom expectations’

The is NO Final Exam (CF) for this module.

Validating the tandem program will add 2 bonus points to a learner’s CC grade of this language course.

Catch-up Exam (CF2)
In case of module failure (grade inferior to 10/20), a Catch-Up Exam (CF2) is organized.
The CF2 replaces the entire grade of the module (UV/UE).
The CF2 is a Mock TOEIC Listening & Reading Test administered under exam conditions. The pass rate (10/20) is calculated as equivalent to the required TOEIC score for learner graduation (as below).

CF2 Score: =if ( [[CF2 TOEIC Score]] <= [[Target TOEIC Score]], (10/ [[Target TOEIC Score]] ) * [[CF2 TOEIC Score]], 10 + (10/ (990-[[Target TOEIC Score]]) ) * ([[CF TOEIC Score]] - [[Target TOEIC Score]]))

Example: if a learner requires 850 points on the TOEIC for graduation, then 850 on the Mock TOEIC Listening & Reading Test will confer a grade of 10/20 for the module (UV/UE)

In cases where 2 or more session absences are unjustified, the CF2 grade is limited to 13/20.

Approches pédagogiques

Pedagogical Materials (non-contractual):
Learners will engage with a variety of exam-focused resources across multiple platforms, designed to enhance both language proficiency and test-taking strategies.
• TOEICPrep SPOC Content:
Learners will work autonomously through structured online activities focused on key TOEIC strategies. These activities include listening and reading exercises, each working on a particular strategy for use during, or preparing for, the TOEIC Listening & Reading Test. Learners are encouraged to take detailed notes on challenging areas and prepare questions for checkpoint sessions.
• Practice Tests:
Full-length and mini TOEIC practice tests will be provided to simulate exam conditions. Learners will analyze their performance using self-assessment tools and receive feedback during checkpoint sessions.
• GlobalExam Platform:
Learners will access personalized training modules via a designated online platform (e.g. GlobalExam), which offers a range of TOEIC-style exercises. Regular practice on this platform is essential for improving speed and accuracy in both listening and reading sections. Learners are encouraged to track progress and reflect on areas for improvement before each checkpoint.
• Metacognitive Strategy Tools:
Study materials will introduce techniques for independent learning, goal-setting, and self-reflection. These resources will help learners enhance their language study habits, fostering long-term success beyond the TOEIC exam.
• Collaborative Peer Support:
During in-person sessions, learners may work in pairs or small groups to share strategies and provide mutual feedback. While collaboration is encouraged, each learner is responsible for their own progress and must actively contribute to group discussions.
• Tutorat Sessions (Optional):
Individual or pair tutor sessions will be available for personalized feedback or deeper exploration of difficult concepts. These sessions require self-signup and are subject to availability.
• Homework and Self-study:
Independent study is critical to success in this course. Learners should regularly engage with all materials provided, complete assigned tasks, and set realistic goals to guide their self-directed learning.
