Objectifs

All the students, at the end of the course, will be able to:
- Integrate the basic functions of a standard microwave systems, like sensor networks or wireless local area networks,through theoretical works.
- Carry out the basic concepts through practical experiments, by groups of two students.
- Apprehend a suitable approach for a professional simulation software (ADS, Advanced Design System), either individually or by groups of two students.
- Combine the above skills in order to simulate the performance of a simple radio system in the case of a connected object of limited complexity.

WBAN: sensors networks, propagation, antenna networks …
Radio Links for sensors
Localisation: absolute, relative, distance, angle, UWB, ….
Radio Standards: 802.15, 802.11, 802.16 …
Context setups : comfort, e-health, low power consumption, domotic, professional contexts (inventory management, RFID, ..)

Prérequis

A background of first courses in electronic and microwaves is assumed
