Equipe pédagogique

  • PELIKS Gerard
  • NUNEZ Juan

At the end of this track, the students will be able to:
- adapt and apply the information theory models and tools for assessing the performances of a theoretical cryptography/watermarking system
- analyze, define, and evaluate the protection level of multimedia systems and services according to actuality examples (e.g. Netflix)
- accurately identify the requirements of the secure systems at the core of new Internet services (e-commerce, multimedia databases, video on demand, social networks, ...) according to the EU GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) enacted in May 2018
- compare and benchmark standardization initiatives (such as MPEG-21 or DCI) for content protection and traceability
- integrate the principles of the intellectual property rights management, identification, authentication, confidentiality, traceability under the framework of a realistic yet simple use case

- Multimedia content protection: encryption, steganography, watermarking and fingerprinting – related, yet very different applications
- Basic concepts and models
- Advanced statistical models and methods for multimedia protection
- Channel coding and source coding for multimedia protection
- Media type peculiarities in content protection
- Still images: inserting/extracting a large quantity of information in/from a small host
- Video: the challenge of defeating the most daring pirates
- Audio: the strongest transparency constraints
-3D graphics: from CAD objects to virtual reality avatars
- Stereoscopic video: offering an additional view in content tracking.
- Standards opportunities and pitfalls
- Content protection and patents
